I believe AI will benefit accounting as it will be able to automate certain tasks to create more efficiency in the workplace. However, humans will always need to understand how AI works in order to use it properly.

Constant improvements in the industry are crucial but often overlooked due to the idea that if something still works “good enough” it should not be changed, but we should always strive for absolute excellence.
When i picture accounting i see someone at a desk working out these big long problems and checking balances so while its not an actual story, it is what i see in my head

I think AI will automate more of the work accountants do that it ever has. I see it completing all of the financial statements and the person just has to go back and check it
The accounting story of my image is an accountant with an inflated head trying to meet a deadline. The accountant’s head is inflated because of how much information he can store in his brain. I think that AI will affect accounting by speeding up repetitive tasks and making the accountants themselves more efficient. I don’t think that AI will replace accountants, just optimize them. I asked DALL-E “accountant with inflated head” and that is the image I got. I wasn’t expecting something like that, but I guess that is the beauty of AI.

I choose this image because of the general idea that accountants are boring. That they just sit in front of computers and look at numbers all day This picture represents the idea of someone who would have a more exciting life style and is an accountant portraying that the accountant has a very interesting style of living outside of his job.
a. The story of my image is playing on the basic “goal” of counting in accounting. I wanted to pair it with a cliche of “counting sheep” to fall asleep, to have a creative play on the profession.
b. I believe AI will be able to carry out some common accounting tasks- storing financial data, as well as updating it and weighing it against potential financial factors.
